She got a fucking tattoo man, a TATTOO. It’s a little ‘J’…. Fuck me.
A god damn tattoo. Shit I love that woman.

Little Red got one too. Nearly made it worth blowing a gasket when I couldn’t find her earlier. So damn hot.

You need to calm your shit, bro.
We got ourselves a couple of badass bitches.
I chuckled as I sat my phone down on the kitchen counter.
That man really needed to lighten up.
He was going to end up being one of those old dudes on blood pressure medication if he kept flying off the handle the way he did.
Charlotte was a smart girl, our lives were fucking crazy, but she had a good head on her shoulders and she’d been with him a long time now, this wasn’t her first rodeo.
My phone chimed on the counter. I unlocked the screen with a lazy swipe.

I wanna do a demo of the new song tomorrow, come over about 10?
Tell Han to come, Charlotte’s not leaving my fucking sight.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
“Barbie?!” I yelled down the hall.
“Yeah, babe?” Hannah called back from wherever she was.
“Little Red is grounded, wanna come keep her company tomorrow while we lay down a couple of demos?”
Her laugh rang out through the hall of my house.
A house that wasn’t a home without her.
“He sure knows how to overreact, huh?” she yelled back with a giggle.
Understatement of the century.
I responded with a chuckle.
“Sounds like a plan.”
“Oh and babe?” I called again.
“Yeeeaaah?” she replied suspiciously.
“Did Lotte send us over the dodgy side of town for that stupid fucking interview just to get us out of her hair?”
I strolled down the hallway quietly as I waited for her reply.
“How was that interview?” she yelled back as I followed her voice.
Found you.
I rested my shoulder on the door frame of the studio she’d had installed for me as soon as she’d found out I could sing, and watched her for a moment.
She was so pretty; her brow was furrowed in concentration as she clicked away on the computer in the corner.
“Don’t change the subject, barbie girl.”
She jumped out of her chair and clutched her chest. “For fuck’s sake, Jasper, how many times do I have to tell you not to sneak up on me like that!”
I chuckled and raised a brow at her, waiting for my answer.
She shot me daggers as she sat back down and started clicking at the computer again.
“Well? Did I sit through three hours of fucking torture just so she could get herself a love shrine in permanent ink?”
She smirked. “I’m not saying that she did set you guys up, but also I’m not willing to say that she didn’t.”
I’ll take that as a yes.
“I’ll be getting that little redheaded she-devil back for this.”
“Oh c’mon… you love the tattoo.”
Can’t argue with that.
“She could have sent Park without me,” I grumbled.
“You’re a package deal now, baby.”
“Yeah, yeah.” I strolled towards her. “What are you doing on here anyway?”
“Making a mix tape.”
“Of what?”
“Of you... and Parker.”
I came up behind her and looked at the screen over her shoulder.
“Like an actual mix tape?”
She grinned. “Well a 2018, USB version.”
“What do you want that for?”
“What’s with all the questions?” She giggled.
She was playing it cool, but I knew her well enough to know that she was up to something.
Now I just had to figure out what it was.
“You know me,” I drawled. “I get curious.”
“Curiosity killed the cat.”
I chuckled at her comment.
“I just wanted it for my car.”
We’d brought her a brand new, white Mercedes sedan about six months ago and while she loved that thing to death, she hardly ever got to drive it.
She did still pout every now and then about me trading in that awful bright pink beetle she used to drive, but I couldn’t stand the sight of the thing in the car shed any bloody longer.
I knew she didn’t really care, it was hard for her to stay mad when she had a damn fine replacement.
“Alright then.” I kissed the top of her head and left her to it.
I knew she was bullshitting me, but I loved myself a good mystery – and Hannah was nothing if not a puzzle to figure out.
