Two Bad Bosses: An MFM Menage Romance by Sierra Sparks, Sizzling Hot Reads (65)

Based on the talk I just had with Caden, I don’t feel like he’s one hundred percent comfortable with everything. He’s reverted back to being quiet, I mean, he’s generally quiet, but now it’s much more pronounced. Maybe it’s because Scarlet has been around for such an extended period of time. Her presence is highlighting some things. He did seem more relaxed after our drink, but that side of him needs to become more ubiquitous. He’s a fun guy, and I want Scarlet to see that.

I place our glasses in the dishwasher and head upstairs to my room. I reach the top step and see Scarlet peeking out of her bedroom. I can’t quite tell what she’s doing except for the fact that she’s trying to be really quiet. She looks down the hall, away from me and steps out slowly. After closing her door, she turns in my direction and when she sees me on the stairs, she jumps.

“Oh! Hi, Oliver.” She’s completely caught off-guard it’s almost kind of charming. I take a few steps towards her and she leans into her bedroom door.

“Where are you headed off to?” I put my hands in my pockets to maintain a relaxed stance, but I am very curious. Scarlet looks down, biting her bottom lip. It can’t be that embarrassing, can it? “Is it that bad?” There’s a hint of sarcasm in my voice that I think she picks up on, because she looks up at me with a slight smile.

“No, I just wanted to take a look around the house.” Scarlet is different in more ways than one. A small tour wouldn’t be too out of the way. Whenever we bring someone new here, we usually start with a tour.

“I can show you around.”

Scarlet twists her mouth to one side and appears to be thinking. She gives a curt nod and says, “Yeah, okay.” She pushes herself off the door, and we head back downstairs.

We move passed the living room since Scarlet already had a chance to look around it. We enter the kitchen. She’s in awe again when she lets out, “I can’t believe you guys live like this.”

“It is kind of fancy.” I take a moment to appreciate what Scarlet’s seeing. It’s a fully decked out kitchen with elaborate trimmings. It’s a generous-sized room with olive green cabinets over charcoal black marble countertops, enclosing a stark black island counter with matching bar stools. I also eye the various high-tech appliances that Caden uses: a full stainless steal French Door refrigerator shining across from a double-stacked oven and microwave. “I’m not much of a cook. Caden’s the one who gets the most use out of the kitchen.”

Scarlet hops onto the counter and swings her legs. “Are you guys going to cook for me?”

I go to the counter and lean against it, arms crossed, standing next to Scarlet. “Would you like that?”

Without saying anything, Scarlet takes her hands and gently tugs at mine. I let her uncross my arms, and she runs her hand up my sleeve to the hem of my suit jacket and pushes it off my shoulders. It falls to the ground.

“I’d like a lot of things.” She begins to move her hands to my buttons, but I stop her.

“Do you want to see the rest of the house?”

Scarlet looks taken aback but regains her senses. Caden and I aren’t against having sexy time without one another, but I feel this time we need to be extra careful. Our relationship with Scarlet is delicate, and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

“Yeah, sure.”

I drop her hands, and Scarlet jumps off the counter. We stand facing one another. It’s a little awkward, but I shake it off. I lead her into another room off the kitchen. It’s a game room. Scarlet walks around me and goes into the room. There are many ways to entertain oneself in the room. We put in video games, board games, a pool table and whatever else a person could think of. “Is the entire house this cool?”

“I guess…”

Scarlet goes and sits on one of the couches. I sit across from her on the other couch. Scarlet is lying down and rolls over to her side so she can look at me,

“I kind of understand the… arrangement you have with Caden but not really.” She’s nervously grasping her hands, her voice not as clear or confident as before. “I just don’t really understand how I’m supposed to fit in.” She takes a deep breath. “I’ve never done anything like this before.”

A lot of the women Caden and I have been with often bring this up. Usually, I give them a stock answer with reassuring optimism but ultimately give them the option to leave, but with Scarlet, I don’t want her to be gone too quickly. She seems like someone who would fit right in. The way her eyes twinkle with curiosity and how her voice seeps with intrigue piques our interest, and it’s stunning that she is natural at mindfully considering both of our presences; chemistry has been brewing since we met, and after a few experiments already, I want to continue getting mixed up in her into an eruptive fury of passion.

“It’s not really something that’s easily explainable. Just keep to what you’re comfortable with. Caden and I do like more ‘out there’ things, but we’ll only do what we can all agree to.”

“So, does it always have to be all three of us?”

I shift in my seat a little. She’s obviously referring to earlier in the kitchen. I scratch the back of my neck, not completely sure how to move forward.

“It’s more complicated than that…” Caden and I have been through a similar problem before, but now didn’t feel like the time to go over those kinds of things. It would probably be better to wait for Caden to have this conversation.

Deep in thought, I don’t notice that Scarlet had fallen asleep. I stand up to cover her with a blanket then go upstairs to my room. I take off my clothes and get into bed. It takes a little bit of time for me to fall asleep, but I eventually do. My mind is stuck on what Scarlet said and figuring out how I’ll talk to Caden about all of this.
