Out of the Blue by Lila Rose (28)

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Lan

I texted Easton earlier. He was going to come to my house first before we’d head to his to kick Gamer out and check on the dogs. I sat on my couch, bouncing my leg up and down in anticipation. He’d be here soon, and I damn well couldn’t wait to actually see he was in one piece.

Parker would be dropping him off. Since Miller was no longer, I doubted Parker would stay, but I wouldn’t mind if he did. I’d like to see him around Easton. I still couldn’t get over the fact Parker slept in the same bed as Easton. Sure, he would have told Easton it’d be because he wanted to sleep, but deep down, and because I knew him, Parker would have done it for Easton’s sake. He wouldn’t have liked to see him worrying.

Just couldn’t believe it led to them being in the same bed.

I’d have to ask Easton everything because I fondly remembered how when Easton and I previously slept in the same bed, I’d always wake with him sprawled over me. He was the biggest snuggler I knew. Had he done that with Parker too?

My cock throbbed at the thought of them together in bed. Throbbed painfully into hardness. Fuck, I’d have given my left nut to have seen them together.

I adjusted myself behind my jeans as an amused smile tugged my mouth up.

It would’ve been funny to imagine Easton’s reaction or Parker’s if he’d woken first. Those details I wanted to know.

Christ, I ran a hand over my face remembering how crazy I’d been not hearing from Parker or Liam when they’d got to Easton’s fathers place. I’d been at the compound waiting with Dodge, Gamer, Knife, and Beast. It felt like it was more than the four hours it had been.

Tires rolling over the gravel road close to the house sounded through my ears. Standing, I ate up the distance to the living room window and saw Parker’s car pull into my drive. I was out the front door in moments.

There wasn’t a chance I could wipe the smile off my face.

Easton was here.

Home.

He knew we were something. He knew he was mine.

It meant I could walk down the steps and meet him at the car. Which was what I did. The car stopped, and I opened Easton’s door before he could. I heard Parker open his own door and as I leaned in the car to Easton, I saw Parker climb out from the driver seat.

I smiled at a grinning Easton. “Hey,” I said, reaching over him to undo his seat belt.

“Hi,” he whispered.

“Fuck it. Can’t wait,” I told him. He laughed, but that stopped as soon as my lips hit his. I curled my hand at the side of his neck. The kiss started out soft, sweet, but as soon as Easton touched his hand to my side, just below my ribs, I switched it up and applied pressure. His mouth opened, and his tongue and mine twisted and wound around each other.

Jesus, he tasted good. He always had, and kissing him, finally after ten fucking years, brought up all the damn good feelings I had for him back then. It reminded me why Easton had caught my attention. Why I’d wanted him back then and again after seeing him for only moments. He’d been made for me. Mine.

Fuck, it was good to have him again.

He moaned into my mouth and ran his hand up to my chest, neck, and then cheek. He brushed his thumb against my skin.

I pulled back enough to capture his gaze. “Hey,” I said again. We both grinned. “Let’s get inside.”

“O-okay,” he stuttered. Maybe from the way he was feeling or it could be from whatever he saw in my eyes. Stepping back, I allowed Easton to ease out of the car. I couldn’t take my eyes off him. He looked good. Shit, I wanted to run my hands all over him anyway to double-check he was okay, and other reasons.

I could touch him.

We were together, weren’t we?

Fuck it, we were, and I refused to doubt it. Refused to doubt he’d second guess this. Me.

We’d been amazing together years ago, and we’d be better now.

Shaking my head, I smiled as excitement rushed through me over the thought of our future. I glanced over at Parker. He was at his boot grabbing out a suitcase. A huge sense of… shit, I didn’t know, maybe happiness or gratitude settled in my chest. Whatever it was, staring at Parker had me feeling it because he’d taken care of Easton without letting anything stop him.

He set the case on the ground, and I got a nice view of his arse behind his dark blue jeans. I looked over to Easton and found him taking in the view too.

I chuckled. We could be pathetic together in our admiring Parker from afar.

Using the handle, Parker pulled the case over to us and stopped. Before he could say anything, I asked, “You comin’ in for dinner?”

His eyes flashed; he hadn’t expected an invite. Did he think I wouldn’t want him around just because Easton was there now? That he could do a drop and run? Or that after putting himself in that situation for me and Easton, he could disappear without at least letting me show some gratitude with dinner and a beer?

“Nah, you two go ahead. I got some shit to do.”

“Dinner and beer,” I demanded. “Come on, man. You went all the way over there for me and East. Let me just do this.”

Beside me, Easton reached out to run his hand down my arm and to squeeze my hand before dropping it. He also thought it was a good idea.

Parker shook his head. “I appreciate it, but I do have to get goin’. Another time.”

I opened my mouth to bark at him about it only being one meal, when Easton gripped my wrist. He said, “Sure. Another time. That’s good.” He nodded. “Fine.”

Parker lifted his chin in reply. As he started around the car, I called, “Thanks for everything.”

“Not a problem, Lan.”

“Hey, the women are putting something together in a couple of weeks. I know I’ll see you before it, but wanted to make sure you knew about it. You’re coming to it.”

He snorted, then chuckled. “Sounds like I don’t get a choice.”

“Nope.” I grinned.

Another chin lift followed before he climbed into the car. Easton grabbed his case and we made our way up to my house. Easton stopped at the bottom of the steps. “I’ll leave this here for when I go over to my place.”

“Okay,” I said, only my attention was on Parker backing out of the drive. He didn’t seem himself. Would it have to do with me kissing Easton in front of him or over him kissing Easton?

“He was quiet all the way home.”

I looked down at Easton to see he’d been watching Parker as well, even as far as his car disappeared down at the road. “Parker?” I asked, to be sure.

“Yes.” He glanced back at me. “Even Liam noticed and shot me looks. I tried to get him to talk, but I got his aggressive one-worded answers.”

“He’s more like that when somethin’s on his mind,” I mentioned.

“Should I have done something?” He turned to me with worry in his eyes.

Smiling, I shook my head. “Nope. Parker’s just… Parker. Sometimes he just has to work shit out for himself.” I just hoped that was the case here. Holding out my hand, I suggested, “Let’s go inside, have dinner, make out, and then get you home to your brood.”

He laughed, taking my hand. “Sounds like a perfect plan.”

After dinner, where we talked about Easton’s time away with Darlene and Jewel, we were on the couch together. Actually, Easton was straddling my legs, glaring down at me because he’d just explained what happened in bed that morning and I was laughing my arse off.

My hands landed on his hips as I tucked my face into his shoulder still chuckling.

“It’s not funny. I nearly had a heart attack.”

“Jesus, I would have loved it if Parker woke up while you were all over him.”

Wait… maybe he had.

Maybe Parker had woken and then pretended to be asleep because he wouldn’t want Easton to feel like shit for it. He’d do something like that. Even if he acted like a douche a lot, he still cared.

It could explain why he had to go in a rush and why he wasn’t acting the same.

But then if he’d been awake, what did he think of Easton lying all over him?

“Where is your mind right now?” Easton asked, tapping my nose. “First, you’re looking a lot better, even after a couple of weeks. Now you can answer.”

I smiled. “Thanks,” I replied, then ran my hands up from his waist and around to his back so I could bring him closer to me. “And my mind was back in the bedroom with you and Parker in the bed.”

His brows shot up. “Really?”

“Hell yes.”

“You like that thought?”

“Is it weird if I do?”

He chuckled and shook his head. “No, because I liked the one of you and him in bed together.”

Arousal shot right to my cock and hardened it. “Yeah?”

“Heck yes.” He grinned.

“Only Parker. Never anyone else. I mean, I know we can’t promise—” His fingers dropped against my lips, stilling them. Then he moved them so he could pinch my chin, all while staring at my mouth. “No one else ever. There’s just something about Parker.”

“I know.” I rubbed my hands up and down his back. “Need you to wrap your arms around me, East. Want you close when I take your mouth.”

He licked his lips. “Lan, your shoulder—”

“Is getting better each day. I know what I can handle, and your weight against me is fine.”

“Your hip? Arm? Leg?”

My smile switched to a wide grin. “Fine, good and great.”

“Lan—”

“East, keep your arms wherever you want them, so you don’t worry about hurtin’ me. But you need to hurry up and kiss me so we can go to your place.”

His eyes softened. He melted more against me, and his hands went behind me to rest on the back of the couch. Repositioned, he whispered, “Okay.”

As soon as he dipped his mouth close to mine, I placed a gentle peck against his lips while I met his eyes. Another followed as we both smiled. Then I flicked my tongue out to touch his lips. He stilled and then tilted his head to mold his mouth to mine. I slid my hands down to his arse and gripped, causing Easton to make a sound in the back of his throat.

Fuck. I loved kissing this man.

Easton Ravel was my world.

Fucked if I sounded like a damn woman. I didn’t give a shit. My emotions for him consumed me more in that moment. When I pulled back to stare at him, he smiled lazily at me.

I had Easton back in my life. In my house and my arms.

How lucky could one man be?

“What are you thinking?” he asked.

“How lucky I am.”

“Lan.” His voice was a breathy sigh.

“If you hadn’t forgiven me… I don’t know what I would’a done. But fuck, East, thank you. Thank you so damn much for forgivin’ me and being here. I promise I’ll do everything in our world to never hurt you again.”

“You can’t—”

“I can promise it because I know if I did, it would gut me. I never want to see you hurt because of me again.”

He nodded. “That means you have to keep yourself safe as well. If you hurt, then I will. Can you keep yourself safe?”

“I’d definitely want to so I can come back to you. But you have to do the same.”

“My job isn’t as risky as yours.”

I raised my brows.

With a roll of his eyes, he responded, “At least nothing near as bad as yours. It’s just the drugged out and scared ones we have to look out for. Plus, I’m not the skinny wimp I used to be.”

I narrowed my eyes and squeezed his arse cheeks. “Never say that. You may have been slim, but you were never wimpy.”

He grinned. “Note to self: don’t put one’s self down while around Lan Davis or he’ll get cross.”

“Damn right I will.”

His grin widened. “How about we get back to my place. Kick Gamer out, and I make it up to you?”

“I’m down with that,” I replied, smiling.
