Out of the Blue by Lila Rose (8)

Chapter Eight

Parker

Say what the fuck now?

I was stunned to the spot staring after a blushing Easton. That was how they knew each other, but how— Fuck, I didn’t mean how, I knew how, but why… wait, I didn’t know Lan was gay…. Except, he couldn’t be. I’d heard about his dates with women. He’d spoken of them.

“East?” Lan called.

My gaze swung down to him. I snapped my mouth closed and cleared my throat. “Ah, he’ll be back, and so will I. Just, uh, rest.” I stalked from the room and straight into the next one where I found Easton laying a sheet on the bed. “You and Lan?”

He glared across at me. “Talk to him about it.”

“When?”

Talk to him—”

“I didn’t know he was gay.”

He rolled his eyes. “He’s not.”

I snorted. “Yeah, and he just likes to shower with random guys.” I was not thinking of those times at the gym showers or the precinct.

Fuck no. I would not let my mind go there.

Easton’s brows raised. “Does he?”

He was a frustrating little dick. I growled under my breath. “So he’s not gay, but you two had a thing?”

His gaze narrowed even more. “Yes. Ten years ago.”

I jerked my head back in shock. “What, were you fifteen or something? You look like you’re twenty now.”

“No,” he bit out. “I was nineteen. Not that it’s any of your business. In fact, you need to get back in that room while I do this. Then when he’s more with it, we’ll get him clean and back to resting.” He turned his back on me, and I knew I wasn’t going to get any more out of him.

I supposed I’d got enough anyway.

Lan wasn’t gay, but apparently, he was for Easton. And that was ten years ago. Lan would have been thirty at the time, and Easton said he was nineteen. Who seduced who?

My steps faltered. I didn’t give a flying fuck who seduced who.

Jesus. Where had that thought come from?

Shaking my head, I walked back into Lan’s room and over to the bed. He seemed to be sleeping again. I sighed in relief because I wasn’t sure I wanted to hear anything that came out of his mouth right then.

Still, it wasn’t like I cared if Lan liked guys. Each to their own and all that. But it was a shock to find out, that was for sure.

Lan shifted on the bed, his good eye opened, and he blinked a few times. Then noticed me and a smile came over his lips. “Parker.” He sighed.

“Hey, man. You doin’ okay?”

“Yeah.”

“We got Hawks searchin’ for Miller. We’re gonna get you back on your feet real soon.”

“Hawks. Good guys.”

My lips twitched. “Yeah, they are.”

“So’s you.”

I stiffened. “All right.”

“He’s awake?” Easton asked from the doorway.

I nodded. I wasn’t sure if I could look at the guy without wondering why Lan had picked him or had there been others? Nope, not going there either.

Easton came forward, moving around me to Lan’s side. “Lan, we need to get you up and clean. I’ve made up the spare bed for you to hop into after you’ve showered.”

“Sure,” Lan replied happily. “Long as you get in with me.”

I tensed.

Easton grumbled something under his breath. “Ah, no, but I’ll help you… and Parker’s here to help as well.”

“East and Parker,” Lan mumbled and then started chuckling.

I snorted. “Come on, man. Let’s get you up.”

He laughed harder, then winced. “I already am.”

“Uh, no you’re not. You’re lying in bed,” I told him and then glanced to Easton to find he was blushing about something.

Ignoring whatever it was, I pulled the sheet down and clenched my jaw. I couldn’t wrap my head around someone being in Lan’s house and hurting him. No, it wasn’t that I couldn’t wrap my head around it; it was more like I wanted to wrap my hands around the fucker who did it and not let go.

I sucked in a deep breath through my nose and shook my head. Leaning down, I gripped Lan’s arm where it wouldn’t hurt and slid the other under his back. “Let’s get you washed.” He grunted, and with Easton’s help on the other side, we got him up and standing. He rested all his weight my way. His jeans were already undone and hanging low so Nurse could patch up his hip. The wound on the leg already showed through the cut material around it, I glanced over to Easton as we slowly, so damn slowly, made our way to Lan’s en suite. “His bandages okay in water?”

“Yeah, they’re waterproof. Still, I’ll change them again later.”

I nodded and kicked the door open all the way.

“You guys are the best,” Lan said.

I chuckled. Yep, he was still high.

“Lan, we’re going to turn you around, and you need to lean against the counter,” Easton told him.

“Sure, anything.” He smiled. Once we had him half propped up on the counter, so his injured leg wasn’t taking his weight standing on the floor, we stepped back.

“I’ll get the shower, you get his pants down,” I said, and started to shift around Easton.

He grabbed my arm. “No. You get his pants down and I’ll start the shower.”

I narrowed my gaze and clipped, “I don’t think so. You’ve seen his junk before.”

He straightened to his full height, and still, he was shorter than me and crossed his arms over his chest. “You can’t tell me that during the gym or at work you and Lan have never seen each other naked?”

Fuck.

“Not the point,” I bit out.

He cocked a brow. “What, because I’ve had his dick in my mouth it should be me to undress him?”

I could feel my face heating. My idiot eyes flicked down to his lips, and I wanted to tear them out of my head. Instead, I sneered, “Glad we got that sorted then.”

“Hey, hey, hey,” Lan said. “No arguing, both of you go. I got it handled.” He grinned, then cringed and softly cursed. His hands went into the top of his jeans and started to slip them down, but I saw he was struggling, and Easton also noticed.

“Dammit,” Easton muttered. “Stop, you’ll rip your stitches,” he ordered and stepped towards him. I took the chance to move to the shower and get it turned on. I waited for it to heat and kept checking the temperature. I glanced over my shoulder to see Easton on his knees helping Lan out of his jeans. Lan was smiling softly down at him, then he lifted his head up and glanced over at me and winked.

I jerked my head back around to the shower and pushed what was happening behind me out of my head.

“Fuck,” Easton clipped.

“What?” I asked, spinning back around. Easton stood with his hands on his hips in front of a grinning Lan. “What’s wrong?” I took a couple of steps over and stopped at his side.

Easton ran a hand over his blushing face before dropping his head back, eyes closed to the ceiling. He cursed again, and I saw his hand lift, gesturing in front of him. I looked at Lan, then down his body.

A laugh abruptly left me. I then snorted. “Seriously, man. You’re injured, and you can still get it up.”

Lan’s grin upped a notch. He was so going to kill himself when he remembered this shit. But right then he didn’t seem to have a care in the world with his erection tenting his boxers.

“There’s—”

My hand shot up. “Nope, I don’t want to hear it. You’re going in the shower with your boxers on.”

“'Kay,” he said lazily.

“Come on,” Easton said, exacerbated, and went to Lan’s right side. I took his left, and together we got him into the shower. Easton gave me most of his weight so he could help clean him down.

Lan hummed under his breath, then giggled like a little girl. “A fantasy come true.”

I froze.

He meant Easton in the shower with him. It had to be it.

It had to be.

Push that fucker way, way back in my mind also. I wasn’t even gonna open my mouth to clarify it because it was what he meant. Lan wasn’t attracted to me.

No.

Hell no.

Jesus, that was just laughable.

He’d never once looked at me in a way that said otherwise.

It seemed Easton wasn’t touching on what Lan said either. “You can turn off the shower,” he told me over Lan’s shoulder.

In the process of it all, our clothes got drenched. Luckily, I carried a spare change in the car. As we got out, I grabbed the towel off the rack and handed it to Easton, he glared but dropped Lan’s weight onto me while he quickly dried him off.

Damn, who was going to change his boxers?

It sure as shit wouldn’t be me.

“You two are great,” Lan mumbled. His good eye opened and closed slowly. Exhaustion had him leaning into me more than he had been.

I grunted my reply, and Easton mumbled, “Uh-huh.” Then with a sigh, he wrapped the towel around his waist and put his hands underneath it. A scowl replaced the perturbed look. He seemed to take his damn time getting Lan’s boxers off him.

“This ain’t the time to jack him off—”

“Fuck you, dickhead. His boxers are wet and stuck on his skin. You want to give it a go?”

“No.” I glared down at him. Easton shook his head and went back to work. I wasn’t pissed at him; I was annoyed at myself for being a dick when he was there helping but didn’t have to.

Still, I didn’t trust the guy because I didn’t know enough about him.

“East wouldn’t do that. Not when I fucked things up with us,” Lan muttered.

“Lan, not now,” Easton clipped.

Curiosity and all that shit.

“How’d you fuck things up?” I asked.

Easton’s gaze snapped up to me. It was harsh, and any other man would have been wary of it, but I wasn’t.

“I got sca—”

“Lan!” Easton snapped as he straightened. He cleared his throat. “Step out of the boxers,” he ordered. Lan nodded, and with our help, we had him out of his boxers and in the spare room next. Gently, we lowered him to sit on the side of the bed. “I’ll grab some other boxers,” Easton said, and disappeared from the room.

I stood back, ran a hand over my face and eyed Lan hunched in on himself. “You all right?” I asked.

He nodded and winced once more. “Like your hair long,” he whispered. My head jerked back. What was I supposed to say to that?

“Uh, thanks.” I glanced around the room. It was bare other than the bedside tables and the bed Lan was on.

Lan snorted, his arm went across his stomach.

Easton came back into the room and knelt in front of Lan. “Lift your feet, and then Parker will help you stand.”

Lan smiled softly down at Easton and did as he asked. Stepping up, I helped Lan to his feet, and Easton hiked up his boxers under the towel, then whipped the towel away.

“Right, now I’ll change the bandages, up your meds, and then you can rest.”

“I’ll go fix some food. He should eat before resting,” I suggested.

Easton nodded. With one last look at them, I made my way out of the room.
