Damaged Goods: A Single Dad & Nanny Romance by Rye Hart (43)

CHAPTER TWELVE - LOGAN

“Yes,” Kailey cheered, showing me her get out of jail free card. “If only it were that easy in life.”

“Then we’d all be screwed,” I laughed.

I watched Kailey laugh loudly and move her old boot across the Monopoly board. She had come in early and curled up in my bed, batting her beautiful eyelashes at me and complaining that she was really tired of watching movies. I laughed, pulling myself from the bed and chasing her playfully down to the kitchen, where we drank coffee and ate cereal together. The morning light was beautiful and the frost on the lawn sparkled in the rising sun. I caught Kailey staring out the window, lost in thought. I had to admit, after last night’s conversation, I couldn’t keep my thoughts straight either.

What had started out as a routine safe house duty quickly turned into a torrid affair, but it seemed to go even further. I now not only thought of Kailey as incredibly sexy, but as an amazing woman with a big heart; one that she’d kept closely guarded most of her life.

She lit up as she talked about her future plans—the places she wanted to go and the patients she cared for as an ER nurse. After breakfast I led her into the den, where I opened up a cabinet full of board games. She perused the games, tapping her finger on her chin for a few minutes before pulling Monopoly from the back and holding it over her head like the heavyweight champion of the world. I laughed and rolled my eyes, not remembering the last time I played a board game.

“You’re pretty good at this,” I laughed, watching her count her money.

“My dad always said, when it came to taking someone else’s money I was the champ,” she laughed. “In reality, I just really games that make you use your brain? Strategy games are my jam.”

“Oh, if you like strategy games, you should try Catan,” I said, feeling my inner nerd shining through. “It’s this crazy game of strategy, and when you get bored with it, there are extensions for it. I used to play it with my buddies in college.”

“That sounds fun,” she said excitedly. “But I don’t really have anyone at home to play games with.”

“Well, maybe when this is all over you and—” Before I could finish my sentence, my phone rang, and I answered my sergeant's call.

I hadn’t spoken to him since I took the assignment from the DA. I listened carefully to his instructions, shaking my head and giving my usual, “Yes, sir,” answer. After he had hung up, I sat there for a minute, just watching her laugh and shove tortilla chips and salsa in her mouth. I could only imagine what it would be like for her to go home and a part of me didn’t want her to.

“Who was that?” she asked without looking at my face.

“So, that was my boss,” I said with a deep breath as I mustered an excited tone of voice. “He says they caught the guy, booked him, and he was denied bail, so you are free to go home in the morning.”

“That’s awesome!” she smiled. “I really miss my blow drier.”

I laughed, shaking my head and taking the dice from her. I rolled them across the board and moved my piece, paying her an absurd amount of cash for landing on her property. We continued playing Monopoly until I had no money left and only owned like three spaces on the board.

When I threw up the white flag, she pushed her arms in the air, standing from the table and doing a victory lap around the kitchen. She was so damn cute.

We packed up the game neatly, and she picked a new game. This time, she chose the game of Life because she said she wanted to give me a chance to win something. I nodded sarcastically, laughing to myself. Of course, at about the halfway point she was already rolling in the dough and I was struggling uphill with a wife and four kids on a salesman’s salary.

“I told you, you should have gone to college,” she said, shaking her head. “Now you're going to raise a generation of degenerates. It’s a sad state this world is in.”

I looked up at her, raising an eyebrow and watching as she burst out laughing. “I sound like my grandfather,” she giggled.

She spun the wheel again and watched it go around the board, her face showing that her mind was somewhere else. When the wheel stopped, I waited for her to move. She stared down at the wheel, lost in her own little world.

“Hello?” I said, leaning down to catch her attention. “Earth to Kailey. What are you thinking about?”

“Oh,” she replied, looking into my eyes. “I don’t know. I was just thinking about how I was going to miss having you around. You know, to fuck me whenever I want.”

“I’m going to miss having you around to cook me breakfast in the nude,” I smiled, watching her roll her eyes. “But maybe we don’t have to stop.”

With those words, her eyes immediately went dark and she stood up, walked over to me, and straddled me in the kitchen chair. She wrapped her legs around me and laced her arms around my neck as she leaned down to run her tongue over my lips. I could taste the chips on her tongue, and the wetness of her mouth made me instantly excited. I pressed my hands against her back, feeling her push down against my dick, which was already swollen in my pants. She could feel my hips move underneath her and she pressed her mouth harder against mine, opening her lips and letting my tongue explore.

The heat of the moment was almost overwhelming, but at the same time, there was a passion in our kiss that hadn’t been there before. I could feel more than need and want on Kailey’s lips and I knew for a fact there was more on mine.

We had spent the last two days acting like normal people, not just sex crazed teenagers, and we really got to know one another. The passion mixed with the lust was building faster and faster in my lap and I could barely keep my hands to myself. Her mouth tasted amazing and I reached up, grabbing the back of her neck and pressing deeper into her mouth. She played with my tongue like she played with my dick, hard and seductive.

As I pushed my hips up, a small groan escaped her mouth and I could feel how hot she was through her shorts. This girl was driving me crazy and this time, I didn’t even care. It was our last night in this house, all alone, with no one to bother us. I wanted to make sure I tasted every single inch of Kailey before I let her go. If I had it my way, I’d be shuttling her straight to my apartment where I would fuck her in every single room and every single position. I was about due for a vacation anyway and I couldn’t think of any better way to spend it than locking the door and never coming up for air.

As she ran her nails down my shoulders and bit down on my bottom lip, I could feel my erection grow stronger. She pulled back from the heavy kiss and ran her thumb over my lips, looking down at my mouth and biting at her own. She leaned forward again, brushing her soft mouth against me and letting the tip of her tongue caress my skin. Every time I went to take it in, she pulled back, teasing me and smiling coyly.

That was it. This girl was going to get it.
