Truth or Dare: A Mountain Man's Second Chance Romance by Amy Brent (156)

CHAPTER 16

Declan

My body was a traitor. I wanted to have breakfast with her and try to talk today before anything else, but the way she was touching herself was too much to bear, especially when she came. I had to taste her after that, both her slick fingers as well as her pussy. When she came again just from that, my cock was a stiff reminder of what was going to happen next.

We were in a weird place right now, in my opinion. Fucking again wasn’t going to help that but fuck me, Rayna was sexy. I drew her feet to my shoulders and slipped inside, praising God for protection as I slid slowly inside. I was too blind with lust to count how many times I’d felt Rayna wrapped around me but each new time was just as good. She clung to me, slick with her heat. I moved in and out as I held her legs, looking down at her as she took me with a few movements of her hips.

It was perfect.

One of her hands was cupping her right breast, squeezing in time with the thrusts as she stroked her nipple every now and then. This wasn’t something I’d seen her do yet and it turned me on tremendously as I started to move a little harder. I liked watching her perfect tits bounce when I took her hard, not too big but enough to hold in my hands as I sucked on those pretty pink nipples. “Oh, God. Yes.” Rayna urged me on, releasing her breast as she slid her hand down to circle my cock as I slid in and out of her. I felt one stroke of her fingers, and I was a goner, shooting inside of her forcefully; filling her pussy.

My pussy. This was all mine.

She cried out as she slowly twitched against me and I felt her heat wash over me. No woman I’d ever been with was ever this responsive to me, making me realize that we were perfect together.

What was holding her back?

I dropped on the bed and looked at her for a moment, breathing in and out as she clutched the sheet with her hand. “Fuck, woman. You just singlehandedly did all that.”

Rayna giggled and blushed, making me realize yet again that she didn’t see herself as a sexy woman. “I don’t think I just had sex with myself, Dec.”

“No, but before that? You are so sexy. No, more than that. You’re the most seductive woman that I’ve ever met.” She blushed further, shaking her head. “You fucked yourself, Rayna and it was a sight that I’ll never forget.” She widened her eyes and stared at me as I grinned.

“I think I might regret that,” she told me as I reached for her hand that she’d used on her pussy to kiss it gently. It still smelled and tasted like Rayna, and her eyes glazed over as she watched me.

“Never. Life is made for living, and if you regret something like that, you're not true to yourself. That was you, Ray. All of that was you.” I assured her between kisses as her face flushed again.

I dragged her to the living room after giving her one of my t-shirts to wear, reheating our plates as I freshened up our coffee. We read the paper as we ate, talking about the world events through another cup of coffee. Rayna was intelligent and had an opinion, but she wasn’t one of those impossible women who never heard anyone else’s words. I liked that about her.

“Do you work today?” I asked as she nodded, realizing that we didn’t talk too much last night. “You work too damn much.

“Almost every day if they need me to. It keeps me busy,” Rayna told me as she ate the last bit of bacon with a small smile. “It’s nice to feel needed.”

“I need you. You could be here with me instead of sitting in that office filling other’s needs.” She shot me a dark look, and I smiled at her. “There’s so much to do, Ray. The boat was just the beginning.”

“What do you mean?” She asked as I shook my head.

“Hotel owner. Remember? I could take us almost anywhere for a trip.” I said as she bit her lip. “Hell, we could go somewhere for the next three weeks. I can work anywhere, and I’m sure that your friends at work would agree with you taking a little time off.”

“I can talk to them. We don’t have a large staff, though.” Her eyes searched my face. “Are you sure?”

“Of course. Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked as she frowned and blushed.

“You could save that for a relationship,” Rayna told me as I leaned forward to cup her hands.

“This is a relationship, Rayna. We didn’t walk into this expecting it to be more than one night, but it is, and neither of us can deny that.” Rayna’s eyes widened, and I squeezed her gently. “You’re mine.”

“I’m not.” She protested as she licked her lips nervously.

“I am going to spend every second that I have with you to convince you of it, Rayna. I don’t know what is happening between us, but we both feel it,” I promised her as she took a slow breath. “Follow your heart, baby.”

“I’m trying. It’s just so hard.” She looked sad for a moment. “I’ll lose everything if I walk away, Declan.

“Your family wouldn’t do that, would they? You’re their daughter.” She shrugged. “If they would lose you so quickly, they didn’t deserve you, to begin with. They don’t see who you are, your needs and your wants.” I knew that this was easier said than done as doubt clouded her beautiful eyes, tracing the frown on her face. “I am not going to pressure you. I am just going to spoil you so much that you’ll see that the grass is greener.”

“I already know that,” Rayna promised me as she reached for her coffee.

We spent the few hours that we had together inside, cuddled together watching a movie before she went to work. Rayna told me that she was going to leave a bit earlier to get some things from her house as I looked forward with a nod. That was good in that it meant she’d be coming back, but I worried about him being there and hurting her. “Can I go with you?”

“Oh, Declan, no. It’s too risky. James has cameras outside, and he’ll see you.” She said as an idea flashed through my mind.

“He knows you’re not there, then. Right?” I asked as she gave me a long look. “Are there cameras inside?”

“Not that I can find. It would be evidence that way.” Her words infuriated me, and I pulled her closer.

“Get the fuck out of there, Rayna. Pack a suitcase and bring it here. Don’t go back.” I sensed her stiffness and stroked her arm gently. “You’ll be safe, I promise.”

She went to shower after a little while, leaving the house in time to go home. I watched her leave, pacing afterward as I tried to find some work to do in my head. I wasn’t going to rest until she sent me a text assuring me that she was at work. Everything was fine.

She didn’t message me a lot during her shift, so I worked at the table. They might be busy, and I didn’t want to bother her. Well, I did, but I was sure that she was coming back here tonight. I always checked to make sure that she was leaving on time so I’d have an idea when to expect her.

I was surprised when my phone rang later that day, seeing Claire’s name. I hesitantly answered, leaning back for a break from work as I waited for her to talk. “Dec.” Her voice sounded sad, and I rolled my eyes. “Brandon and I got into a fight, and he left me at this bar.”

“Yeah?” I asked as she started crying on the other end.

“I’m scared. It’s at the wrong end of Hollywood, and you’re kind of close by, so I called you. Please help me.” Claire was always one for drama, and I sighed.

“I’m working. You have money, Claire. Claire, call for a cab or something.” I knew that I sounded annoyed and she gasped.

“I don’t want to go back to the apartment. He might be there.” I wish that she could see the smirk on my face.

“And if he is, then you’ll deal with it. It can’t be worse than getting divorced,” I told Claire as she started to cry harder. “Get your own fucking place and be independent.

“I’m sorry for everything, Declan. I’m sorry that I hurt you,” I sighed. Here it was when she was fighting with her current boyfriend and more than likely drunk. “I wish I didn’t date someone at work, but it just happened. I didn’t realize how far that it would go or that…I’d have feelings for him. I miss you sometimes, you know.” There was remorse in her voice as she spoke and I hoped that she wasn’t trying to get back together in this awkward moment. “Do you ever miss us?

“Fucking hell, Claire. I’m not doing this with you. We split up, and it’s over.” I snapped as she breathed deeply on the other end. “Get a cab or an Uber and go to a hotel for the night, if need be. I’m not going to solve your problems with…him, nor and I going to entertain the idea that you want me back.” I moved on, even if it wasn’t the best idea that I’d ever had. “This is what you chose for yourself, and you need to handle it.”

“I remember when you used to save me,” she said wistfully as I realized how much it was true. I also knew that I was trying to do it with Rayna, as far as her marriage and her situation. Was I repeating the same mistake all over again? “I’m going to let you go.” There was a long pause before she told me that she missed me before ending the call.

I got back to work, sending a message to Rayna to check that everything was okay. As messed up as it was how we met, as wrong as it was what we were doing now; I cared for her. Right or wrong, I cared for her.
