Dirty Desires by Michelle Love (37)

David

Fifteen years of marriage and the woman still didn’t know what I would and would not endure. “Suck,” I’d commanded the woman who was both wife and Submissive to me.

When she raised her head, her eyes came up to meet mine. “No.”

My hand trembled as I looked into her defiant green eyes. Her black hair was pulled into one long, silky ponytail. She’d been outside in the garden when I came out to find our bodyguards watching her with lust in their eyes.

Our children were away at boarding school. Sophia, our oldest, was the one who’d asked if she could attend a prominent school in Vancouver that her best friend was going to. Our twin sons, Braden and Brody, followed her a year later. All of our children were excelling at the private school, and we’d never been prouder.

But something else happened with our children out of the house. The Dom/Sub relationship we shared had blossomed. We’d practiced it more than we ever had in the prior years of our marriage.

Maybe it was the Dom in me that couldn’t take other men looking at my wife or talking to her in ways that sounded seductive to me. I wasn’t entirely sure of what had my senses so turned on, but they were on. There was little I could do to stop myself from feeling protective of my wife and Sub. She was my world after all.

I wouldn’t just stand by and let some other male take her away from me. I would never do that.

But her expression told me she wasn’t happy with me at all. Happy or not, she was still mine. “No?” My brow cocked over my right eye.

Is she kidding me?

Head held high, eyes on mine, she said it once more, “No.”

My erect cock was out of my pants, standing at attention merely inches from her mouth. It required some seeing after, and it seemed she was choosing now to defy me.

Have I really made her that mad at me?

“My dear Sub. Have you forgotten your place?” I asked her with a wry smile while putting my dick back into my pants.

Surely, she wasn’t that mad that I had fired the men who were lusting after her. And if she was that angry, did that mean that she actually liked what they had been doing to her? Ravaging her with their eyes?

“I would like to speak with you on a different level, sir. A wife and husband level,” she requested.

Unsure if I would like speaking with her on that level, I had a hard time making that decision. So, I took a moment to see if I could get her to see things my way. “Kaye, I want you to know that I only fired those men out of respect for you. That said, your anger with me over that event is making me think that you liked their attention. Did you like the fact that those two were drooling over you?” My hand twitched. I felt sure I would spank her mercilessly if she gave me an answer that would displease me.

“I didn’t think they were doing that, sir,” she remained compliant. “I think you’re letting jealousy rule you, a thing that isn’t mentally healthy. As a nurse, your mental health means as much to me as your physical health.”

Ah, my wife, the nurse. Though she practiced minimally now, she was one through and through. “What I think is that you and I have been married for fifteen years. We have three beautiful children who are away at school now. And I think you’re in a place in your life where you seek male attention to prove that you’re still vibrant and attractive.”

Shaking her head, her expression told me she didn’t think that was happening at all. “Sir, I am not seeking anyone’s attention.” Her eyes softened, the small lines that formed with her angry glare fading away as if by magic. “You are the only man I wish to appeal to. You should know that by now.”

While my heart wanted to believe her, my brain told me otherwise. “I’ve witnessed far too many men lusting for you in recent months for that to be one hundred percent true. It would make me feel better if you would see that I am right about this. That way, you’ll be aware of your subconscious actions and stop doing them.”

When she rose to her feet without me telling her to, I knew that this was going to be a pretty tough argument that I wouldn’t escape. Dom or not, my Submissive was also my wife. Wife trumped Submissive every damn time.

Squaring her narrow shoulders, I could see I was in for a battle. Battling my dainty wife shouldn’t be a real problem—only it was a big problem—because my wife knew how to handle herself when it came to making me see what she saw as reason.

“Okay, David. I didn’t want to have to do this, but you’ve said too much for me to just let it all go. This has got to stop, or it will end us,” came Kaye’s opening jab.

And I took it right to the gut, too.
