Hell's Fire MC: The Full Series by Erin Trejo (102)

Chapter 24

Her words ring over and over in my head. She loves me. It’s the perfect way to start my day.

“We go in. We wait. He comes home around midnight every night. Tonight is his late night. He hits the bar over on Elm for an hour. He’ll be home around one. We’ll already be inside and ready for his ass. Devil’s drivin’ the truck, we’re all in the van. We make it clean. I don’t want any fall back on this club. We go in stealth mode. Devil will dispose of the fuck afterward. Any questions?” Glancing around the table, no one says a word. In fact, they all look as eager to get this fuck as I am. The Blue Sky shit will come later. They have nothing on us.

“Let’s do this.” Everyone stands and heads toward the door when Haylee stops me.

“Dragon, are you, my dad, now?”  Haylee looks up at me.  My heart leaps in my chest.

I lean down and lift her in my arms.

“Would you like that, if I was?” Her smile tells me all I need to know.

“My other dad didn’t like me. You like me, so yes!” Kissing her cheek, I see Everleigh smiling off to the side.

“Then I guess that’s a yes.” Setting her down, she runs to her mom.

I blow Ev a kiss before heading out the door.

“Dad, huh? How you feel about that?” Ghost slaps a hand on my shoulder as we walk toward the van.

“Fuckin’ amazin’, Ghost. I’ve missed hearin’ those words for so long. Haylee is perfect. Everleigh is everything I want.” Nodding his head, he follows me to the van.

“Then let’s make this shit official!”

Sitting in the house that Everleigh and Haylee used to call home, doesn’t sit right with me. Something inside of me wants to snap and lose it.

“This is fuckin’ awkward.” Leave it to Roc to fill in the blanks.

“Who the fuck you tellin’?”  I say chuckling. He nods.

“You love her, don’t you? I can see it all over you.” Stretching my arms out across the back of the couch, I smile.

“Damn right I do. I want this shit over with. I want her with me, and only me. No more of the past bullshit that she’s used to.” They all nod when we hear the car pulling in.

I stay in place as I nod to the guys to take their places. Devil had a friend break in and scouted the fucking house before we ever came here. He knows where the best spots to hide out in the dark are. Aside from us cutting the power lines, he won’t know anything. The door opens and closes. I can hear him bitching about the lights.

“Fucking whore probably never paid the bill.” His words slice through me, and it takes all I have not to go after him. Blowing out a silent breath, I wait. He sets his keys on the table; my eyes are adjusted to the darkness, I can see him. He walks into the living room unaware that I’m even sitting here. What the fuck kind of cop is he, to not feel a presence? Worthless fuck. Clicking on a flashlight, he turns and spots me lounging on his couch. He startles, going for his gun. Devil has him around the throat in seconds; his gun tossed to the side.

“Miss me?”

***

His eyes are wide.

“You won’t get away with this,” he says, as laughter erupts out of me.

“Yes, I will. You know you have a lot of enemies.” He struggles against Devil until the others step out of their places. His eyes jerk around, taking everyone in.

“You son of a bitch.” Devil tightens his grip, making it nearly impossible for him to breathe when I shove off the couch.

“Thing is, no one will miss you. Your daughter asked me to be her dad. Your wife calls me daddy when I’m fuckin’ her sweet little body. She tastes like heaven.” I can see the anger in his eyes. If he could get out of Devil’s grasp, there would be a fight.

“You aren’t shit! She won’t stay with you after she knows what you did to me.” I smile as I step closer to him.

“My plan was to kill you nice and slow. I wanted to make you feel everything you did to them but then I thought, why? I can’t have your blood all over this house. I want it to look like you left. So, Roc took the liberty of packin’ your shit. You know when Everleigh left you, you just couldn’t bare it anymore.”  He grits his teeth, looking as pissed as ever.

“She will hate you!” He roars. Shaking my head, I step closer to him.

“She knows what I’m doin’ here. She practically begged for it.” Whispering closely to his face, I grin.

“Now, let’s get this over with. I want to get home and fuck my girl.” The way his eyes widen sends shivers over my body.

I step around taking Devil’s place. With my hands wrapped around him—I snap his neck like a toothpick. His body drops to the floor as I let out a satisfied breath.

“Don’t worry—he won’t stay in one piece.” Devil chuckles as I turn to face him. His tell-tale look of evil crosses his face. I know he’s wanted this for as long as I have.

“Don’t do nothin’ stupid.”
