Hell's Fire MC: The Full Series by Erin Trejo (52)

Chapter 25

My chest feels like it’s seizing up. The air is being sucked out of me like a vacuum.  The clubhouse blurs, as I blink my eyes trying to get it back in focus.

“You don’t look good, brother.” Ghost is in my face but this shit isn’t stopping me.

“I need him, Ghost.” I can hear the shots slowly dying down outside. Ghost nods his head, wrapping an arm around my waist. If this is the last thing I do, I will kill the motherfucker that ordered that shit on Angel. With my last breath, I will take his. Ghost leads me through the clubhouse, aiming his gun around every corner when we hear movement in the back. His eyes come to mine as I try to take a deep breath. I move away from Ghost. He isn’t happy about it but he lets me go.

“I’m right behind you.” Nodding, I know he is. He isn’t going anywhere either. We make our way into the back room. My eyes blink rapidly trying to get them to focus.

“Runnin’ like a bitch, huh?” The words tumble out as I watch the piece of shit trying to get out a back exit. His hands stop, slowly lowering from the lock, before he slowly turns to face us. The grin on my face couldn’t possibly get any bigger than it is right now.

“Devil. You piece of shit,” The man growls, knowing who I am. That makes my smile that much bigger.

He reaches for his waist, where I know he has a gun. However, I’m faster.

I shoot a hole straight through his wrist. His bellows fill the room as I walk a little closer to him.

“You remember me?”  I ask. I look into his eyes when it all hits me. The kid, the one they said I killed a while back. It was his.

“I’d never forget you. You killed my son.” He grunts. Shaking my head, I aim for his.

“Your son was a prick. He was goin’ to die, regardless of who pulled the trigger.” I like seeing them pissed. I like seeing that rage and anger in someone’s eyes when I bring up the past.

“You killed him for nothin’!” His bellows do nothing to me. I feel nothing in this moment.

“Nothin’? He was workin’ in the wrong place. He got sent straight to hell.”

His growl rips through the room but he doesn’t make a move to come near me. He knows he’s on the losing end of this shit.

“This won’t end anything, and you know it.” Swallowing hard, I look at him.

“It will end somethin’. It will end the fear that you instilled in my old lady. It will end that hate that she has to feel, thinkin’ that you’re still alive.” He watches me closely for a minute before he smiles.

“Angel was your bitch, huh? She was tasteful. I almost kept that slut for myself. I kind of knew she was yours. When your name left those little lips of hers, I shut her up with my dick.” Fire burns through me. It rips my insides apart. My chest heaves and it isn’t from the gun shot. It’s rage.

“You made two mistakes with her. You let her go for one, and you let her know who you were. A smart man would have killed her. A dumb man let her go, sent her back home. Did you think she wouldn’t tell?” His eyes dance with amusement.

“I thought she’d be dead by the time you found her. That was the initial plan.” My throat constricts. All the air is being sucked from my lungs.

“Does it make you sorry that she isn’t? Does it piss you off that I killed your son like the bitch he was–and I keep my girl?” His eyes blaze before he takes a small step forward.

“She won’t live happily. I took that away from her. I made sure that every wakin’ second of her piece of shit life will be full of me! She will never forget, what I did to her!” I can hear Ghost growling behind me. He wants this fucker as much as I do.

“You know what the difference between you and me is? I will make her forget. I will make sure she’s happy. You, on the other hand. Your son is rottin’ in hell, at the hands of the Devil. At my hands!” Aiming for his leg, he falls to the floor with a thud.

“You see the beauty in torture, huh?” Shooting the other leg, he hollers more.

“I see it, too. I made your boy suffer.” Shooting into his left shoulder, he drops back.

“I can make you suffer, as well.” Pulling the trigger again, I take the other shoulder.

I stand over him, watching the blood seep from all the holes.

“I like the sufferin’. There’s so much beauty in watchin’ the blood, as it slowly drains away someone’s life. Your sons was the perfect display of death.”

***

He snarls up at me, but says nothing else. I knew he wouldn’t.

“Hey, Ghost. Pass me a knife.” Stuffing my gun into the back of my jeans, I stretch my hand out to Ghost.

He places the handle of his knife in my palm. My fingers curl around it as a grin spreads over my face.

“There are a few places that bleed out so slowly, that it will be a livin’ hell. All you can feel is the life slowly drainin’ away from you.” I bend down, slicing through his skin in select spots. Watching the blood ooze out of him sends jolts through my body.

“I will love watchin' every goddamn minute it drains out of you.” A few more and I stand up, watching as blood flows from multiple places on his body.

“You’re a sick fuck!” Grunting between his teeth, I smile.

“A sick fuck? You of all people, should know how I got my name. I’m, Devil.” He wants to say more. I can see it in his eyes but he doesn’t. He watches me.

“This make you happy? Will it make her forget the way I fucked her?” Ghost steps up next to me now. His hands balled into fists at his side.

“I’d like to show you how it felt, but my boy here already showed some of your friends. Pokin’ at the Devil is only goin’ to ignite a flame.” I smile at Ghost’s words.  The guy looks between the two of us. My vision begins to blur once more as the adrenaline that has been pumping though me, slowly starts to fade.

“You don’t look so good.” Ghost places his arm around my waist.

“I’m gonna pass the fuck out, Ghost. Make sure you watch him die. Watch him drain for me.” I push out of his grasp, knowing what’s about to happen. It isn’t the first time I’ve been shot, but it sure as hell feels like the worst one.

I slam my back into the wall behind me, slowly sliding breathlessly to the floor. My eyes find that motherfuckers damn near dead ones. Of everything that I’ve done in my life. Of every kill, of every wrong doing. This is the best one.  Watching the look in his eyes as he slowly fades from this life makes my stomach jump. Knowing that Angel will never have to live in fear of these assholes, makes my heart skip. I did it. I made this shit right for her. I killed that fucker.

As his eyes flicker–so do mine.
