Hell's Fire MC: The Full Series by Erin Trejo (54)

Chapter 1

“Hey, Ghost! Phone's for you!” Glancing over at Amber, I roll my eyes. No one calls the goddamn clubhouse phone for me. I shove out of my chair and head toward the bar. Amber smiles, passing me the phone.

“This is your host–with the most–Ghost.” Amber giggles as I grin over at her. No one responds though, which pisses me off.

“Devil, I swear to fuck if you don’t stop playin’ brother, I will come to your house.” Devil has been fucking with me since the day he moved into his new house.

“It’s not Devil.” That voice—sends shudders through my body.

“Mel?” Just saying her name hurts. What the hell is she calling me now, for? Two goddamn years later!

“I didn’t know who else to call.” Shaking my head, I scrub my hand over my face.

“You made the wrong call.” Hanging the phone up, I grab the bottle of Jack before heading back toward the couch.

Dropping down with the bottle in my hand, I sigh. Why the hell did she call me after all this time? As if my head isn’t already a mess with this Throwers bullshit still lingering in the background, now I have her calling me. Although, Flame Throwers aren’t a threat anymore, the backlash is still possible. Trick sits down next to me. “What’s that look for?” I know I make strange faces when I think.

“Got a phone call that I never thought I’d get.” Trick grabs the bottle, taking a long pull before passing it back.

“Did you hang up?” I look over at the man. At first, I thought Trick was a normal dude, but now I must wonder.

“No—I’m still on it.” Trick nods like a fool before looking at my hands. I pray to fuck this man is drunk right now. There’s no way he could possibly be this stupid.

“You should hang up.” Climbing off the couch, I cock my head to the side taking him in.

Shaking my head, I go back to my bottle.

Maybe he is that dumb.

Drinks keep flowing through the room. It’s a never-ending stream, that I happen to thoroughly enjoy. My eyes land on Nessa. Nessa is a friend of Aria’s, that she’s known since before she came here. That girl is one fine piece of ass, too.  She is taller than Aria, but then again, everyone is. She has dark hair, with a bright red strip down the side. She’s fucking sexy, and she knows she is. I can tell by the way she carries herself. My eyes travel over her long-tanned legs—up to that sweet perfectly round ass of hers. I’d like to get a look at what she has going on under that mini skirt she’s wearing. Dragon slaps a drunken hand on my shoulder. “Stop lookin’ so hard. Go get it,” Dragon says.  Looking up at him, I grin.

“You lookin’ too, huh?” Dragon grins but shakes his head.

“Too young for me, brother. I need an experienced one,” He says with a serious tone. Laughter erupts out of me. Dragon swats at the back of my head before I stand up next to him.

“You ain’t that old, brother!” I say. Dragon runs his hand through his hair before looking over at me.

“I am that old, man. Shit, I was here before all of you bitches. Go get that, Ghost,” He says. Shoving me a little in her direction, I go for it. What the hell can it hurt? I walk up behind her, leaning in closely when her elbow comes back, slamming into my stomach.

“What the fuck was that for?” I grunt. She knocked the air out of me with that one.  Nessa turns with a slight smile curling her lips.

“Don’t walk up on me like that again.” Damn, she did that shit on purpose!

“I was just bein’ friendly. No need to take my dick off,”  I snap. Straightening up, Aria laughs next to her friend.

“I wasn’t aiming for your dick. Next time I will.” Nessa grins as she watches me.

“Damn, Aria. You have some nasty friends,” I tell her. Aria’s smile stays in place.

“She isn’t nasty. She’s just lived a life she shouldn’t have had to.” My eyes come back to Nessa’s. That interests me.

“What was so bad, that it made you this way?” Stepping into her space, I ready myself for what she might offer.

“Asshole’s like you. I’ve learned my lesson.” Flipping her hair over her shoulder, it slaps across my face.

I knew girls could be shitty but damn, that’s the first time one has been that way to me. I mean fuck, look at me! I’m fucking Ghost for God sake!

***

The party is hot as hell right now. I walk over, slapping Amber’s ass, making her giggle.

“Next time someone calls for me, I’m out,” I say as Amber looks at me confused but it’s none of her business. Finally giving me a nod, I smile and walk the other way. I’m stumbling down the walkway outside of the clubhouse, slamming my shoulder against the wall. I’m a little drunk off my ass right now. So many things filter around in my head. Thoughts of Mel are always there. I don’t know how to erase them. I don’t know how to make them stop.

“You look like you’re going to throw up.” Nessa’s little voice sends shivers over my body.

“I don’t throw up, darlin’.” Nessa stands in front of me with a grin on her face. She is a little blurry, but that shit isn’t anything new.

“That’s not what it looks like to me.” She starts to brush past me but I grab her arm.

“What is it with you? Why do you want to be such a bitch?” I ask with a grunt. Nessa takes a step back, looking me in the eyes. Maybe bitch was too strong of a word. No, it wasn’t, she’s being a bitch.

“I’m not being a bitch. I’m simply guarding myself against assholes like you.” How the hell does she even know what I am? She doesn’t know me. She doesn’t know shit about me.

“Seems, you like to jump to conclusions about people,” I retort. Nessa giggles slightly before pulling her arm free of my grasp.

“I know your type. I was with a guy in another MC once. He was a real piece of shit–much like the rest of the guys. I don’t see you as being any different.” Wow! I didn’t see that one coming at me. It was like she threw a brick in my goddamn face.

“I’m not all other guys, sweetheart. Some of us are different. Stuck up bitches like you wouldn’t know that, though,” I grunt.  I bump my shoulder into hers as I walk past her. I left her there with her mouth hanging open. She deserved that shit, though. She doesn’t know me, or my life. I don’t like those uptight bitches that think they are better than everyone. I’ve ran into more of them than I care to admit. They all come out the same, though. Some girls just don’t understand what makes a good man. I know I’ve done shit in the past that may dispute that fact, but overall, I think I’m a pretty good person. Continuing my stumble down the side of the clubhouse, I just need to sleep this shit off. I’ve drank far too much in a short amount of time. That call from Mel has gotten my head warped.

I don’t know what the hell she wanted, or why she even called me. However, I’ll be damned if I let her back in my life after two years. Two years of longing. Two years of missing the one thing that made sense to me.  I can’t get drawn back into a world of hurt. I’ve worked to goddamn hard for that. I was a fucking mess when she left. Granted, it was my fault but I tried to get her back. She wanted nothing to do with me.

So why am I letting her fuck with my head right now?
