Hell's Fire MC: The Full Series by Erin Trejo (99)

Chapter 21

Ev cuddles into my side, worn out by the orgasms I just gave her. I can’t say that I’m far behind. This girl wore me out. My fingers mindlessly roam up and down her back.

“I’m sorry I acted like that,” she says, her breath tickles my skin.

“It’s not your fault. I threw a lot at you all at once. Devil has a house that no one knows about. He’s there at night, and Angel will stay with you durin’ the day.” Everleigh sighs into my chest once more.

“What about you? Will you come over?” Grunting, I wish I could. I know the risks, though.

“Not until after they come with the search warrant. I don’t want them followin’ me over there. I’ll call you, though. Got you a new phone.” Ev lifts her head, resting her chin on my chest.

“I don’t know how to act or how to take all this. What do I do, Dragon? I don’t want to keep running.” Resting my other hand behind my head I groan.

“I know you don’t. We have some people lookin’ into things. I have plans that are bein’ set in motion, Ev. I’ll get it all taken care of. You won’t have to run. You won’t have anything to do but relax and let me fuck you.” Everleigh laughs before pressing her lips to my chest.  The way my body quivers, I want more of her. I want so much more than I probably should.

“Let’s get dressed. We have a tree to decorate.” Tickling her side, she laughs before sitting up. Before I can move, her lips are on mine.

“Thank you, for being you.”

The tree looks perfect. Haylee grins from ear to ear, while Jordan tries to rip all the balls off. My heart swells watching my family enjoying this time together. Everleigh is pulled tightly to my side, while Devil smiles over at me. Shaking my head, I press my lips into Ev’s hair.

“This means a lot to her.” I know this is hurting her. It has to be. This is the first Christmas away from the home that she’s always known. I don’t think Haylee is having an issue with it, though. She’s so lit up right now. Aria brought in a radio and has Christmas music playing. Haylee dances around, singing every song on there.

I love watching her. I love seeing her so excited.  However, it also hurts.

It hurts that it isn’t Emily, laughing and smiling. Nothing can bring her back, though. I came to terms with that a long time ago.

“Why are you so tense?” Everleigh moves to stand in front of me; her eyes are full of worry.

“It just hurts that Emily isn’t here to do this also. I’m ok with it now. It’s just, seein’ Haylee so happy, it hurts a little.” I see the understanding in her eyes. She knows what I mean.

“I can’t imagine losing a child, Dragon. I wouldn’t know what to do without Haylee.” I give her a sad smile.

“You never want to feel that pain. I’ll make sure you never have to.” Kissing her forehead, I pull her back against me.

I want to savor the time I have with her because after the shit goes down; I don’t know how much more of it I will have.

I sent Everleigh and Haylee to Devil’s a week ago.

Wiley said things came up, and they didn’t execute the search warrant the other day when they were supposed to. So, here I sit and wait. He said they’d be here today. Roc and I went out Christmas shopping in the meantime. Thank fuck, the mall has people to wrap all this shit, or it would have been tossed in front of the tree the way it was.

We locked it all up in Devil’s shed for safe keeping. I don’t trust this Anderson fuck any further than I can throw his ass. I hear the cars coming before I see them.

“We ready?” Hollering at the guys, I know this place is spotless. We made sure of that. Not one speck of dirt would be found when they toss this place.

“Fuck yeah!” I sent a quick text to Ev before deleting it all from my phone and shutting it down. I won’t give this fuck anything at all to pin me on shit. Dropping onto the couch, the guys lean against the bar. I kick my boots up on the coffee table, crossing my arms over my chest. As the cars filter in quickly, screams erupt outside. Same old shit.

“Police! Search Warrant!” The glass on the front lobby door breaks as I shake my head.  Police swarm the lobby, guns trained on us. I just sit back with a smile.

“You know, that door was unlocked.” Making note that they broke my fucking glass for no reason, they don’t look like they care. Huh, imagine that.

We’re all on the floor, face down, hands cuffed behind us. I want to laugh at all the huffs and pissed off remarks, as the assholes find nothing in their search. Glancing over at Devil, it looks like the fucker fell asleep. I chuckle to myself when a boot meets my ribcage.

“What the fuck!” I grunt from the impact; I tilt my head to look up at the bastard that kicked me.

“Where are they?” With a grin, I shake my head before resting my forehead on the floor.

Another kick to the ribs.

“Fuckin’ punk!” Growling, I try to catch my breath. Anderson reaches down, grabbing me by the hair.

“You better think long and hard before you lie to me, Dragon.” His words mean nothing to me.

“Long and hard, was what she liked.” Yanking my head back, I feel like it’s being ripped from my body, but it was worth it to see the look on his face. Not so much when his knee met my jaw, though. Blood pours from my mouth before I spit it on the floor.

“Get him up!” Dropping me back to the floor, I grin at Devil, who is wide awake now. The look on his face is priceless. A few guys roughly yank me up from the floor, so that I’m facing the piece of shit that hurt my girl.

The reality isn’t lost on me. I just thought of her as my girl.

Fuck this, that’s exactly what she is. Married or not, she won’t be for long, and she is mine.
