My One and Only: A Bad Boy Secret Baby Second Chance Romance by Weston Parker (57)

Chapter 15

Jay

It had been over an hour since Jay had sent a memo asking Kasey to come down to his office, but she had yet to respond. He wondered if she could be out of the office, or if she was simply ignoring him. It was difficult to think he could have possibly misread her so badly, because he was known for being able to read women well.

Kasey’s confidence in the boardroom was even sexier than her outfit, which caused Jay to shift his pants under the table before they began the meeting. There was something about her that made it difficult for Jay to be his normal commanding self in the office, and it made him uneasy.

Eventually Mitchell came by for their evening recap, but Jay’s mind was elsewhere, constantly jumping at every alert from his buzzing phone, hoping for a message from Kasey.

“I told you she would be worth every penny,” Mitchell slapped his best friend on the shoulder, congratulating him on Kasey’s win as if it were his own.

“She was brilliant in the meeting,” Jay shook his head, still impressed by her presence and rapport with Trisha. He hoped she had established that type of relationship with all her clients, because it was something most agents lacked.

“And it’s only the beginning, Jay. This is going to be the edge that pushes Renee out as our competition.”

The reminder of his arch nemesis put a bad taste in his mouth, and he wished his business partner hadn’t brought her into the conversation. Mitchell could never understand the animosity between the two, because he was more of a casualty of war than the conflict itself, a feeling only Jay had to endure.

“Mr. Canton, is it okay if I leave for the day?” Jessica asked, after knocking on the office door.

“Yes, of course. I have some extra work to do, so I’ll be staying late,” Jay lied. He only had to wait on a response from Kasey, but it was enough of a reason for him to delay his departure.

“I would hang around with you, but Kathy’s invited friends over for dinner,” Mitchell said, before excusing himself.

Jay was fine with it, because he didn’t want his friend there when he said what he needed to say to Kasey. The two went over a few more details from the day before Mitchell left for the evening. Walking him out, Jay realized there weren’t many employees more dedicated than him this evening, many gone for the day and the few left packing up their belongings.

According to his Rolex watch, it was well past quitting time, but he decided to give Kasey a little longer, still hoping to hear back from her. So, he settled into his leather chair, making himself comfortable in his office.

Fifteen minutes later, as he scrolled through his emails, he caught a flash of ivory from the corner of his office before Kasey knocked twice, timidly smiling from the doorway.

“You wanted to see me?” she asked, and he could sense the nerves in her stance.

“Yes, please come in,” he stood to greet her, closing the door behind him.

“I didn’t mean to respond so late, I was out of the office,” she explained, and from her tone he could sense something was bothering her.

Had he made her that uncomfortable with his ego trip the previous evening? She must have been worried he would lash out again, and that wasn’t the type of relationship he liked to have with any employee, but especially not with Kasey.

“I wanted to apologize for the way I spoke to you yesterday. I don’t think it was warranted, especially after what you did today. Signing someone, and not just anyone, on your first day is a major feat. I think it’s obvious that we have great chemistry when pitching clients. You’re going to fit in well here, and I want you to know that you’re valued,” Jay said.

He watched as the tension rolled right off her shoulders, and knowing that his words had helped her relax meant a lot to him. He liked her fiery edge, but knowing he could calm her lit a bit of a fire inside him. Thoughts of her curving to the mold of his strong hands came rushing back as he struggled to stay focused in the moment.

“Jay, I appreciate your candor and compliments, because I do agree we worked well today with Trisha. But, I’m great at what I do. I build these relationships, and can’t be under your thumb every step of the way. I know what I’m doing,” she insisted, her shoulders now pushed back with slight defiance.

“That’s fine, Kasey, really it is. But you have to remember I am the boss,” he responded, excited by her returned sassiness.

“Here you go again with the boss talk. How many times do you need to say that?” She rolled her eyes before moving to leave, but Jay stepped in front of her, blocking her way.

Her lips parted, and he knew he’d caught her off guard, although he couldn’t be sure if it was in a good or bad way. Jay was so turned on by her independence and lack of intimidation. Every one of his employees seemed to cower in front of him, but even on her second day, Kasey was standing up to him.

“What do you want?” he heard himself ask, although it was a question he probably needed to pose to himself.

“To leave,” she said, with a tilt of her head, but her eyes said otherwise, trailing down to his lips.

In what might go down later as a miscalculation gone horribly wrong, Jay leaned in to kiss her, willing to suffer any consequence. She was too beautiful, too strong, and too sexy; he simply couldn’t help himself.

To his surprise, Kasey met him halfway with twice the vigor, her hand reaching for the back of his neck as she pulled him closer, their lips crashing against each other. It was a sloppy kiss, and their bodies rushed with such intensity their teeth clashed more than once as his tongue searched for hers.

Kasey pushed against him and Jay found himself walking backwards until his back was against the office door, their tongues dancing as they stared into each other’s eyes.

“Wait. Is anyone here?” Kasey stopped abruptly, as if coming to her senses, but that wasn’t the type of coming Jay had in mind.

“No, I’ve already checked,” he assured her, twisting to reverse their positions so she was pressed between the office door and his body. With a light tug of her bun, her hair came loose, falling in thick waves down her back. Jay took a handful and used it to control her, pulling her head back to taste her perfumed neck.

The moan that escaped her was almost his undoing. He hadn’t realized how much of a hold that sound had on him until he could barely contain himself, lifting her as he quickly locked the door before carrying her to the couch in the center of his office.

Kasey’s hands worked overtime, first yanking at his tie and undoing the top two buttons as her lips and tongue raced along his neck. Jay was much less patient as he tore at the thin fabric of her shirt, causing pearl buttons to pop and scatter across the floor.

“I need you,” he growled, tugging her tight skirt down her hips. The fabric bunched at her knees, restricting the movement of her legs. “Now.”

With no warning, he flipped her over so the upper half of her body hung off the couch. He positioned himself behind her.

Lowering his body to see her swollen sex, he slid his tongue along her opening as she moaned loudly, pushing her pussy against his mouth. She wanted more and he liked that, because he wanted to give her all she could handle.

Kasey was the kryptonite he hadn’t known he needed, but now that he had her he wanted to take his time. He wanted to show her how good he could make her feel. He wanted to drink from her, fill her, and bestow pleasure upon her like none she had ever known.

Fumbling with his belt, Jay continued to stroke her sweet spot with his tongue. He enjoyed the sweet taste of her and savored every drop. Kasey reached for a pillow to muffle her delighted moans and sighs, but he snatched it from her grasp, wanting instead to know how good he felt to her. She didn’t fight it, and he was happy to have her back in his grip, bending to his will.
